If your bathroom fan and light work off the same switch, it is working as an occupancy sensor. The theory is that if the light is on someone is in the bathroom and the fan should be running too. That's a good start, but the problem is that the fan doesn't run long enough to get rid of all the humidity in the bathroom and that can cause trouble. The SmartExhaust switch is exactly that: a smart exhaust switch! Flip the switch on and the light and the fan come on together. Flip the switch off and the light goes off . . . but the fan stays on.
