ASHRAE 62.2-2016 Residential Ventilation
This class is taught by the man who wrote the book on the subject: The Residential Ventilation Handbook He's also been a member of the ASHRAE 62.2 SSPC for more than 15 years and, by the way, participated in writing the Standard.
Weatherization Agencies are
required to comply with ASHRAE 62.2-2013 or 2016;
Many states have already
adopted ASHRAE 62.2 into their building codes.
Who knows this stuff better than one of the guys that wrote the Standard?
Throughout the class participants are confronted by examples of actual house, as if they just walked through the door, and have to work out all the challenges of the Standard. (We also review the candidates own homes, and ask them to bring details to the class.) We have hands on props with a variety of fans and fan types and duct work and test equipment to demonstrate the effects of the installation on the performance. We will program intermittent operating controls and talk about how to wire them and offer suggestions on where they should be applied.
This is a two day class. It is a mixture of watching slides of the theory and then working through exercises to apply the standard. When actually confronted with applying the standard, students have to think through all the available options and choose the best ones. They learn quickly that, "When the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail!" We have a wide array of equipment supplied by a great group of manufacturers that we run through all sorts of ducting configurations and test with a variety of tools.
We can bring this training to your facility.
