Attached garages are essentially just another room in the house.  Imagine parking a car in your living room!  But we store all the things we don't want in the house in the garage.  It is common for air to flow freely between the house and the garage - into bedrooms above or below the garage.  It may be slow but it can kill people.  This is an article by Paul Raymer, a principal of Heyoka Solutions, that was published in Home Energy magazine in March of 2005.
